I live and breathe photography, and here’s my story. Hello there! I was born and raised in Poland, and my name is Joanna. My family wasn’t wealthy, but we were able to get by from paycheck to paycheck. Also, I have elder brothers, and I’m the youngest child of our family.
Not surprisingly, I was bullied at school as a young girl because I had a different perspective on life, didn’t have enough money, and listened to different types of music, among other things. To be honest, it was fun to laugh at someone when you were a kid for some reason, but I went through it. Consequently, photography provided me with a haven. I used to have a small, old analog camera that took film and could take about 36 pictures per roll.
It was elementary school, so I was around ten years old when everything began. (Today’s kids will never understand, lol) I carried my small camera with me everywhere I went and photographed everything I could, including friends, nature, and so on. When I was younger, I recall telling my parents that I wanted to do photography when I grew up! They didn’t believe me because I wanted to be a professional photographer. Being a kid is difficult, and parents always believe that humans my age have a million ideas in a minute and all changes over time. NO, MOM, not this time! After I saved up some money and had some support from my parents, they bought me my first digital camera, which I believe was a Sony h3 cyber-shot. For fun, I began photography by shooting for my buddies.
2011 is finally here! I got my first SLR camera for my 18th birthday (18 in Poland is like 21 in the US, BIG ONE)!!
Canon 500d is an excellent camera for those who want to begin dabbling in professional photography. I was still in High School in Poland at the time, and after graduating, I went to PHOTOGRAPHY SCHOOL, where I received a Photo Technician diploma in 2015. At that time, I purchased my first fully professional camera, the Canon 6d, which I’m still using today! I left my home at the end of 2016 to work as a nanny in Ohio, and I took a brief break from photography for almost two years! I met the love of my life during those two years, and we married in November 2018.
