Beautiful antique sterling silver modernist tie bar or clip by Jose Anton, a Maestro in Taxco, Mexico. Involved in the revival of silversmithing he produced many beautiful items. This modernist tie bar measures, 3 7/8″, x 3/8″ wide & features a 5 dots & four bars of silver with 5 recessed black spaces. Back is hallmarked ” Anton Sterling Mexico” , pre 1940’s hallmark . Condition: Item weight 10 gms, wonderful modernist look, has been used, clasp still firm & ready to wear. Tie Bar was purchased from the now closed Powers Museum in Missouri.
