Here we have a pair of antique Double Happy Chinese Qing Dynasty hand carved jade his & hers pendants depicting both the dragon & phoenix. These amulets designed for the bridal couple are symbolic of success & prosperity of the union. Together the pair weigh approximately 21.8 grams – on average each weighs 10.9 grams, this making them perfect to wear everyday. They are an equal size, both hand carved in translucent nephrite jade. To one a phoenix representing the bride, to the other a dragon representing the groom. The color of the jade is difficult to describe in some lights it appears almost white in other lighting conditions it appears as a very pastel celadon green, the color is very even. Each carved amulet measuring approximately 1 1/2″ tall by 7/8″ wide by 3.16″ thick (38.0mm x 21.5mm x 4.5mm) . Only the front is carved the back of each amulet being plain without ornamentation. The pair are in lovely condition being ready to gift or to wear. These amulets are antique & are hand carved there are traces of hand carving & hand polishing of the fine jade. Like all genuine antiques they are much more valuable than modern mass produced reproductions. They present beautifully. An Appraisal is included with your purchase.
