Description
This is a vintage (1970’s) bird cage hanger. Solid brass. Made in Nepal. Not only beautiful, but what a conversation piece! This solid brass stand was originally crafted to suspend a bird cage. But, it is the ideal curio to showcase your most loved treasures. Do you have an heirloom pocket watch that belonged to grandpa? What about some dried flowers from your wedding bouquet? Did your Aunt Peggy give you one of her most elaborate brooches? Just imagine the tableau this would create. It is large & elaborate; the details are amazing. Curving feet. Floral embellishments. Curly-q’s & scrollwork! All done in that honeyed brass. I have not polished it. & neither should you! The patina is lovely. I’m so impressed by the proportions which keep it perfectly balanced. How did they ever figure that out?! It measures 15″ tall. (Wow). 9″ wide. 7″ deep (the stand). There are 4 little felt pads on each foot. (I think I would swap them out for a darker color). Very nice vintage condition. Very nice! No dings, bends, dents. A few surface scratches. A few darker spots which would probably be buffed out. (See above!) A one-of-a-kind piece that would perfectly showcase your most treasured heirloom. It’s a stunner! Brass Bird Cage Hanger – Nepal
