SET OF TWO Modern Rectangular Serving Trays, Green Textured Ceramic Trays, Pottery Cheese Platter, Green Sushi Board This listing is for a SET OF TWO TRAYS Just picture the end of a perfect meal followed by wine & cheese served on these beautiful, modern ceramic cheese boards. You can also serve appetizers, snacks or sushi, or your special homemade biscuits for dessert. Usually when I use this glaze & clay combination the resulting items are a beautiful copper color. You can see what I mean in the same patterned rectangular platter or tray in the link below. These trays came out a more, but still beautiful, green color – closer to what you ( & I ) would expect from a green glaze. I finally figured out what is causing the difference in color – where I place them in the kiln. The lower they are in the kiln the less heat they are subjected to. These were towards the bottom of the kiln, the copper colored one was on a higher shelf. That’s one of the things I love about ceramics – there is always something new to learn!! I had originally intended for these trays to be part of a set with the copper colored tray shown in the link. As for my promise to have them ready by end of Feb. ( again, take a look at the item in the link ), I’ll have to postpone that promise until I can make another one – & make sure I put it higher up in the kiln. The last image shows a set of rounded green platters made from the same clay & glaze. You can see it in more detail in the link below. This set is made from a dark brown clay & glazed with a matte green glaze. The textured area is created by the use of an etched ceramic roller which I made a while back. This item is handmade by me. This item is made from ceramic stoneware & is fired to a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius (2192 Fahrenheit). It is glazed with lead-free & food safe glazes & is ideal for use in the oven & microwave but not over an open flame. It is dishwasher safe. If the item is out of stock, I can make another one, but the new item may vary slightly in size. That’s the beauty of handmade objects.
