The squares were sheared ¾ inch by ¾ inch from 18 gauge (1mm thick) sterling silver & joined to pure sterling silver torpedo style links using sterling silver solder & an acetylene torch. While the temptation may exist to use glue & thinner gauge sterling silver such as 20 or 22 gauge to lower production costs, the 18 gauge sterling silver does not dent or bend when hammering a large metal stamp such as the monogram & soldered joints are far superior to consumer grade resins for joining metals. A black patina darkens the monogram for maximum legibility & contrast against the shine of polished sterling silver. The cuff links are both tumbled & hand polished to insure a quality finish.
