Maker’s note – I have a friend who lives in the Scottish Highlands, who repairs & builds Scottish fiddles. I acquired these Vintage Pegs from him, they are of slightly different shapes & sizes, this one is made from Brazilian Rosewood. The “Penifiler” Pendant is made from a genuine vintage fiddle tuning Peg. Penifiler is a small village on the Isle of Skye, I stayed there back in the 1980s, when I worked with a Clinker boat builder. I was told Penifiler means Penny-Fiddler. The local fiddler was an important member of the community in the 1700s, he was allowed to stay in a cottage for one penny per week in exchange for playing at weddings, funerals & ceilidhs.
