“Every lake belongs to the quietness desired by the swans.” Munia Khan The ‘Swan Song’ Ketubah is a Sonnet to the Magic & Majesty of Swans. The embrace of their elegant & elongated necks coil in pensive union to form a heart. This in turn is reflected in the pond below, mirroring the transcendental nature of their love into other dimensions. This symphony of these two swans, serenaded in each others love is a symbol of the married couples’ shared deep connection, chemistry & conflation into one union & into forever. This Ketubah is a perfect compliment for couples to whom the quietness & stillness of a meditative Swan Lake resonates, & those who feel their love story itself is a meeting of the minds in the midst of a misty pond. The hymn “אני לדוד ודודי ליי ” translating as ” I am my Beloved’s & my Beloved is mine” is the most celebrated sentence from Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs 6:3), written by King Solomon as a romantic declaration between husband & wife. Floating as an arc above, it echoes the shape of an enclosure to foreshadow the future home that will be created by the union of these two souls becoming one. Furthermore this psalm evokes the intrinsic commitment, care & responsibility mutually undertaken by soul mates’ in their journey through life’s Swan Lake. A dusty pink background of water colour washes graces the pores of the canvas & provides a gentle veil upon which the Swans Float.
